Quick Fork Report 1-7-2016 - 01/08/16 12:56 AM
Hope y'all are enjoying the New Year!
Been fishing with my buddy Josh the last couple of days for about 4 hours each day and wanted to put up a quick report. Water temps are 50-51 in the backs of the creeks, and midway back has been about 52, with main lake temps running 55-56 degrees.
Yesterday we had 15 on Carolina Rigs/Drop Shots, fishing on main lake points in 24'. Today we had 7 fish but we just went deep for an hour or so and the rest of the time we were fishing shallow flipping a jig in about 8'-12' midway back in the creeks.
We fished a fluke on the C-Rigs (California 420) with a 1 oz weight and a 5' leader and a #3 rigging hook. On the D-Shot we were using a #1 rigging hook, a 16'' leader, and a 1/4 oz to a 3/8 oz weight. The best bait for us on the D-Shot was a 4" finesse worm in (tomato) & (candy bug). The jigs were Santone 3/8 flipping jig (Black/Blue) with a Zoom speed craw as the trailer.
Here are a couple of photos from the last couple of days. We did not catch any really big fish, but we did catch a couple of good ones and a few good unders.
Hope this helps y'all coming out to fish. Thanks, E
