Hard to argue with the zx20. They fixed all that was wrong with the zx225 and made it better. Individual switches instead of the control panel that was known to cause problems. 250 hp rating instead of 225. I would think the zx20 would be the way to go if I were making that decision.
FXi 21 is the way to go! Best rough water boat and speed to match. Sets higher in the water and on the trailer with the full 21 feet of boat. Big deck, stable and dry. Contact Monte at Fun N Sun and have them to take all 3 of the models out and run 'em. Good luck and have a successful fishing year!
It's all about what you want to spend... They are all good, fast, and reliable... I've owned several different boats with several different brand motors... They all need a little work from time to time.. Warranty helps..
Yamaha is replacing the power head on 2010 and some 2011 SHO's for free to current owners so you will probably find a used boat with a new motor in the upcoming months.

I've had both a 21ft and 20ft skeeters. Not sure why you need a 21 footer. I have a zx 20 and love it. Handles better than the 21 ever thought of handling. I've also had it on lake erie with no issues.

But I have ran a zx225 and fx20 in bad stuff. Skeeters handle weird compared to any other boat. Sometimes you think you just speared a wave, buy you can stomp the sho and she will rise up the wave. The zx225 will run medium waves fast. Needs an hydraulic plate to keep the prop in water. Every 3rd wave the prop came out. Hahaha
I own a 2016 zx-250 last new boat for me was ranger 520. I am really happy with my zx never rode in any of the other models but I think it's a great bang for the buck.
I have a 2011 ZX 200 and love the ride and room. should have stayed with my ZX190 because the 200 is like trying to manuever around with a 18 wheeler. Great rig though.
