Seagur Invizx - 11/29/15 06:37 PM

I have no experience with fluorocarbon at all but I'm looking into getting some. At the local Academy there is some Seagur Invizx that I have heard is pretty good. Do y'all prefer another flouro line? What setup do y'all use flouro for?

I buy the Seaguar Red label and have no complaints what so ever about it!

Just make sure to wet your knot before you pull it tight fish

Seaguar Invizx is good line.
Limber, easy to manage which also means it has more stretch and a little less feel. Not the best abrasive-resistant when fishing around stumps, concrete or rock.

+1 on the abrasive comment. If I am fishing rocks, concrete or boat house pilings I find I need to retie after about every fish because of scuffed up line.

Good point. But, it's a good idea to retie after every catch anyways. No matter what brand/type/weight line.

InvisX is really really good. The best, on the other hand, isn't InvisX. It's Tatsu. Best of InvisX suppleness and AbrazX abrasion resistance. But, it's around $45 for 200yards

Seaguar... Invizx for general, AbrazX for a tougher skin

I have used it for years. Tried other brands from time to time but keep coming back to it.

Its a really good line I mainly use 17lb except for cranking I use 12.

Seaguar is a great line. For us folks on a budget I recommend Yo Zuri Hybrid.

I don't like the line too many breakoffs... I've switched to 100% Berkley.

Seaguar Red label is what I've been using also. Wetting the line is a good idea as well.

Re: Seagur Invizx - 11/30/15 07:54 PM

I like to use Seaguar Invizx on baitcaster and spinning reels. If I want to go a little cheaper, or am spooling up the girlfriend's spinning reel, I use P-Line Fluroclear. I think both are great line and I used to fish in Michigan for northern pike without any issues. I even caught a 12lb salmon off a pier with 8lb test Fluroclear.

Fluro line like invizx sinks so its great for worm, crank baits, jigs ect. Not so good for top water baits like poppers and frogs. Use mono.

Re: Seagur Invizx - 11/30/15 08:44 PM

It is the primary line I use, mostly 17lb. Great stuff. My only gripe is that with the lower lb tests it seems to have a high propensity to break during the knot tying process. I always try and wet the line, but it still seems like half the time I have to do it multiple times to finally get a strong knot. Presumably the knot I tie must be prone to heating up and weakening flouro. Again this only seems to happen 12lb or less.

San Diego jam knot, Fishin fool knot, and the double Pitzen are 3 good knots to use with fluorocarbon line. I also use the Palomar but you MUST tie it correctly for it to work well with fluorocarbon.

I use Invizx most of the time but I like P-Line Halo also.
