Lake Palestine/Lake Tyler Report - 11/21/15 02:59 AM

Lake Palestine

With all the recent rains Lake Palestine has a ton of flooded grass and the shallow bite has really turned on. On the south end of the lake I have been finding numbers of fish with a few good ones mixed in flipping a creature bait on a Tx rigged creature bait in the front and edges of the newly flooded grass. Most of these fish are coming in the back of main lake pockets and half way back in the major creeks. On the colder mornings it seems these fish are hanging back a little and a chrome/blue back rattle trap has been producing better till after lunch when the shad pull up shallower. One other thing that has worked really well when we get a big rain and the water is rising is to fish the narrow cuts that go all the way through. This works really well when it is rising and even when it first starts to fall. Make several casts into these because they usually hold several fish. Kickapoo water clarity is good but these fish are a little harder to find with all the water but when you do there are plenty of them. Rattle trap, square bill, tx rigged creature bait like a brush hog/rage craw and a spinner or chatter bait have been working well. Neches river side is very muddy and has been covered up in duck hunters so for me this area has been very slow.

Lake Tyler

Like Palestine, Lake Tyler has alot of newly flooded grass. I am doing alot of the same stuff as Palestine. Backs of the creeks I have seen alot of schooling fish which can be caught on a rattle trap as well. Points with flooded grass leading into the creeks have been producing the better fish flipping a tx rigged creature bait or working a swim jig through the open holes in the grass. Water clarity is stained but not muddy as of now. Hope this helps! Good fishing to everyone!

*I still have some trips available for the TFF special buy a full day trip get a half day free. You can find this thread by looking in the sub topic "plugs and announcements" of the Bassfishing section. Thanks again!!
