The part where he says why fish for fish you are going to throw away. That is easier said than done . I for one have and usually do start out fishing for a limit. Might be part of my tournament strategy I need to rethink.

Nice read. Thanks for sharing. I am honored to know Ray from fishing Amistad for 35 years. He was always at the top of his game down there and one of the big sticks to beat in the open tournaments on Amistad. I wish him well in the direction that he goes next season.

What he did this year blew my mind. He is also a very deserving Champion. As far as the "Big Bass" thing goes I must agree with him. I would rather one 6 pounder at 9am than a limit. Maximize the morning bite. Most Elite anglers never worry about a limit but focus on the big bites. They have nerves of steel. 5 for 25 beats 30 for 15.

3 Rayovac wins 3 different lakes plus the national win, I think that has to be first time in history!
