We had fun fishing, but coming back to that sux! I hope the mf'r runs off the road and totals their ride with that hitch !

bought a new one today, made sure it was a locking one. Though, from what im told, all they need is a hammer and a screwdriver to remove it anyway

Lol, I had a transom saver stole out of the back of my truck at Fork a few weeks back so I know the feeling. It's the point of the matter not value that made me upset.

If it didn't cost $15 to launch at a private ramp, it might be worth it to pay. But $20 once in awhile or $15 every time you launch at Chandlers? I'll take my chances. In my case, I just go to Fork or Tawakoni instead.

Still sucks your buddy had his stuff stolen. Like was said...the stuff folks will do for $20 is a little puzzling.

About a year ago I pulled in to the free west ramp off dalrock, and there was a guy sitting in a boat on a trailer in the parking lot. I didn't think much about it but then after I launched and was walking down to my boat in the water the guy in the parking lot yelled out "hide your personals". I asked if he had something stolen, and he replied "yea, my truck!". Those theives detached his empty trailer and drove off with his truck. Somebody helped him get his boat out of the water, and the police were just pulling in to investigate as I started idling off.

I posted about it back when it happened and it was amazing how many people chimed in about their cadilidic converters being sawed off while out on the water, trailers being stolen, cars broken into, you name it. Pay to launch on Hubbard PERIOD. The peace of mind is worth every penny! There are shady characters just sitting in their car every time I drive thru those two free ramps off Dalrock

I really appreciate that, but I went and boat a new hitch and locking pin yesterday. I planned on buying a locking pin anyway but on the way to pick up my boat Friday I ran out of time.

Thanks again though thumb

. Yep. One time I lost the key to mine and it was way too easy to break it off

I put a lock on mine like what I use on the tongue of my trailer. It's pretty sturdy but it will keep the honest crook honest... I see people lock the tongue of their trailer to the ball, but the receiver hitch just has a pin in it. Seems like a easy way to steal the trailer to me. That would really suck to pull up to the ramp and see your truck and no trailer....

Too bad there cannot be some sting operations to catch some of these low lifes. Went out with my son in law a few weeks ago chasing some kitty fish and he launches there. I always thought it looked like a place that wouldn't be secure but he claims he has never had a problem. I had him launch us at the 98 ramp on Cedar Creek once to do some bass fishing. Told him I never had any problem there. Came back and he had a busted side window on his truck and someone stole some items out of it. Guess there is no safe place these days.
