Holbrook- 9/25 - 09/26/15 02:55 AM
Hit Holbrook from about 4:00PM till dark today. Had 4-5 bites on a white 3/8oz homemade swim jig and a Megabass Hazendong Shad 4" swimbait as a trailer. It was the green pumpkin shad color. Just targeted the docks that had the most shade along the main lake. with the water level lower than usual it helps to key in on the ones that have 4-5' or more off the end of them.
The bass are schooling like crazy along the points on the main lake. You can literally catch a ton of 1-3lb fish right now.
Best bait for me was a Megabass Giant Dog X in white python. Its a walking bait. Also managed a few on the 6th Sense Dogma 100 in ghost bluetreuse I think its called. Both baits had to be worked VERY fast. They are absolutely crushing it though and coming out of the water like smallmouth.
When they miss it they will knock bait out of the water. Even if you do not see surfacing fish just chunk it up tight to cover and work back to the bait. The schools are full of solid fish and some are as wide as they are long.
Lots of medium sized shad in the bait schools as well. All in all a truly fun evening on the water with the wife.
