I had similar problems at that ramp last week except it was a family with a huge ski boat that was prepping everything including the Bimini top, and paying launch fees in that same spot. They then could not back the boat in the water. I was by myself, beached my boat, walked to the truck, put my boat on the trailer, got it ready for the road, and they were still in the middle of the ramp when I left. I will add that to the list of ramps I stay away from. It is worth it to me to drive a little farther on the water or climb stairs to not deal with the inexperienced boater crowd that frequent the state parks and Jordan boat ramp.

Go to Lake Alvarado and try that mad house of a mistake for a boat ramp and park, and you will love a 4 lane boat ramp.
You can get stuck in line at Alvarado for two hours at a time, in the summer.

At least they are ensuring that the fish can be returned to the lake alive and healthy.

Actually took the same pic. Busiest ramp on the lake now and blocks two lanes. Thanks BLT

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone that was using the Jordan park ramp at the time that we were releasing the fish back into the lake. We have already spoken to our people that were there and let them know that if they can use one boat ramp in the future, to always do that so we don't upset anyone. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope that hope your wait wasn't too bad because of this.

Nothing wrong with stepping up and taking ownership of the situation. No one is perfect....except all the other folks that post on here!!
Hope your tournament went well.

WOW !!!!! this is a tough crowd to please.
Looks to me from the pictures that the one guy had no problem backing into an empty ramp and getting their boat on the trailer.
The other 2 ramps were probably open by the time you were ready.
Gee 10 minutes is really not a big deal in grand scheme of things.

The average person who doesn't frequent a boat ramp often probably gets a pass by most people. A live release trailer from a trail should numer one have the common courtesy to know boat ramp etiquette and number two use some common sense before blocking the middle 2 lanes of a ramp.

Sorry I know that isn't a "feel good" and "try make everyone happy response", but it is my honest opinion on the matter.

PS what the heck happened to BLT? Is the trail dying a slow death?

The park office at Isle du Bois confirmed over the phone that the boat ramp at the state park will be open for business tomorrow (Wednesday 16th).

Johnson Branch park is opening too but I'm not sure about the ramp.
