Lake okeechobee question - 09/01/15 01:02 AM
Going to lake okeechobee in February. I am hoping someone can help me out with my predicament. I was there two years ago. We stayed for 5 days at Roland's marina. The first day of the trip we rented a guide and the rest of the trip we rented one of there bass boats. The boats were great. However, we were very disappointed in the allowed hours for the boat rental. I cannot remember exactly what the hours were, but I know we were not able to leave with the boat until much after safe light every morning. Also, the boat had to be back in the marina like an hour to hour and half before it got dark. Like I said, I do not remember the hours exactly, but I do know we were very disappointed. I go on many trips, and when we go we fish all day. It absolutely kills me the spend the big money they get on there boats and not be able to fish when I want and not even first thing in am and the big topwater bight in pm.
My question is, has anyone rented a boat from somewhere else at okeechobee where they did not have restricted hours? I really like Roland's places and boats, but would rather fish more hours and maybe have a worse boat.
Any help would be great. I am either going to suck it up and deal with it, get a guide for all the days, or go fish a different lake in the area. I would love to stick with my original plan though. But I want to fish all day!!!!
