There are some fish beign caught but in a pretty small area.

Hard to get 30-50 boats onto one spot.

I would say about OCT 1st or so, that way the bite is more spread out and its not 100 degree steam room

Yeah, I'm not quite ready to be in line at 3 am just yet. Oct 1 sounds pretty good.

Re: SQUAW CREEK? - 08/31/15 06:29 PM

Problem last year was several dead bass at weigh-in for first couple of tournaments. I believe one of the units goes into a refueling outage in early October. That should help it cool down way faster.

First or second weekend in October. Definitely need to figure out something with dead fish this year so this place doesn't get blown up with "how dare" you kill a bass post! I'm ready to fish Jimmy

A guy I know has been catching some good fish all summer. I have no interest in fishing 45 to 60 foot! Lol I'll start donating in a couple months.

If a fish is ify about living if released just eat it. Doesn't get wasted and bass taste awesome.

someone could take a cast net and I'm convinced they wouldn't get it back in the boat cause it weighed so much.

Re: SQUAW CREEK? - 09/20/15 09:27 PM

Champion 1 and I caught 102 bass today at Squaw. Heavy 3 was the biggest but it was fun!

We saw a boat with 3 Asians throwing a net! They were hooting and hollering ever time they pulled up the net. Their boat was full of talapia!

They told us that they netted a 30" bass and put it back in!

Also saw two platform boats shooting Talapia with bows! A lot of action for 10 or so boats in the water!

It's bad when you can't see the way points cause your trails over it black out the whole screen. I had to clear them today.

Re: SQUAW CREEK? - 09/21/15 02:13 AM

I don't really understand I guess ???? Squaw Creek is power plant lake with much higher temperature water, right? Now, please don't give me that old line of "fish gotta eat"...I thought bass would be in the cool temperature waters down VERY deep and not feeding actively.....
So what am I missing here? Honest...
God Bless

It fishes different than normal lakes. Last year this time we were catching them good shallow with 95 degree water temps for almost two weeks.

Re: SQUAW CREEK? - 09/21/15 06:12 PM

It's fairly simple to navigate now. They have marked the channel with orange boeys. Just idle through and you'll do fine. The creek is a top spot on the lake but that's if you want to put up with all of the boat traffic.
