I sold my 1998 Bass Tracker and it is listed for sale again in the boats for sale. He is only asking $4,500 for it. 18.5 foot boat with a 90 hp. Mariner. I upgraded the trailer to make long trips on the road. It will make you a great boat.

Rangers are good boats. Where are you going to be fishing? I've seen some decent fiberglass boats around 5k. Do your homework on different boats to find one that will fit your needs the best. My next boat will be larger with more storage and handle rough water better than what I am in right now. Nothing ruins a day more than rough water and a boat that doesn't do well in it.

What kind of lake(s) will you be on? Big lakes, I'd go with an older Ranger. Small lakes, the Bass Tracker would be good.

Something in the 17'-18' range in good condition with a 90-150 hp motor would be a nice starter setup. I've got a 17' Triton with a 115 Evinrude and it's been a great boat. Dad bought it new in 1997 and I've had it the last 5 years. Never had a major problem.
