What color lenses are your sunglasses?

Got on the Amphibia site and they offer any number of lenses color choices. What is a good all around
color or do I need to get several to cover brite sun to low light.

With my cheap glasses I've always gotten amber.

I've had dark slate/grey and amber. I prefer the amber for all light conditions. Amber works well when cloudy for me.

Amber and blue

Just got a pair of Costas, Amber lense with a green mirror on the outside. Speechless as to how Good the glasses are. Of course the 580 Glass lenses help too.

Amber, difference is night and day. I'd give up my favorite rod before I'd give up my amphibias!

I have a Amber pair and a dark grey pair.different light and water conditions determine which I wear.

Blue mirror for sunny, amber for cloudy.

i have two pair of Costas one with amber and one with blue mirror/gray. I find myself using the amber by far the most.

+1. I also use the dark grey in Costas for bright sunny days. Amber is a good all around choice, but I like having blue mirror, grey, and Amber lenses on hand in my 580s. I feel like I can see into the water best with Amber lenses though.

Grey for most times except sight fishing then I go with a copper lens.

Amber lenses have always given me a headache, don't know why.

I always get the darkest lenses i can that are polarized. Probably can't see into the water as well as some others, but they give my eyes more relief from the sun.

I used to wear blue mirrored polarized a lot when i was younger, been thinking about getting another pair of those someday..

I use Costa blue mirror while driving, and i have a pair of green mirror that i have used while fishing that i like. I am about to try a pair of Costa silver mirror/copper base for fishing...as my eyes begin to age, the extra amount of light that this color lets in during morning/evening hours should work better for me not only for sight fishing, but also being able to see my HB screens better. 580g for me.

Blue and Amber...2 colors work for just about whatever you will need.

I prefer to use sunglasses to color correct much in the same manner a television lense system applies filters to white balance a camera system (which happens to be matched to our own eye's color spectrum curve.

In full sun, blue bird sky type of day, the predominant color temp is already D-6500 degrees Kelvin.....so no color correction is needed for our vision, but a strong pair of ND lenses (gray) while out on the water and a polarizing filter helps drops undesirable glare.

On an overcast day the light can still be bright and is very blue, so an amber to yellow tinted filter is needed.

After sunrise and just before sunset requires removing reds/oranges from the predominant light helping to see color renditions best, so still different lenses......

Another words, there is no one color of sunglasses that improves vision acuity in all conditions.... though you will often see folks happily wearing an expensive pair of color correcting sunglasses in the very ambient light conditions that their sunglasses are actually making their vision worse.

This for me too. I love the 580G lenses from Costa but I guess I have a fat head. I get sore behind the ears after a couple of days of wearing them but that's my only beef with them.

I prefer amber. Heck at night if it's raining I wear them to drive...

JacksonBean....same here on the big head.....costa makes five frame styles for extra large heads. Go to their website and check the filter for x-lg. I tried all five on and found that the style "Fisch" fits perfectly without pressure on the temples in front of the ears....no more pain after a day of fishing.

I read every post and now I'm more confused than ever. Oh well.
