Stumps on Fork

Posted By: Guide Richie White

Stumps on Fork - 07/13/15 09:11 PM

Lake fork is .13 feet high right now. There are a ton of stumps at the full pool level. So they are sitting just a couple of inches below the water level.
So many places look safe right now, but aren't.
Be careful!!

It's everyday knowledge regardless of water level, the lake is dangerous at all water levels
Allways be careful running Fork

Thanks Richie, the water at or slightly over pool makes it even more dodgy in a lot of places.
Not that I know since I can't seem to actually fish much since spring.

I'm wondering how many less stumps we'll see once lake drops back down to where it has been last couple years. The trees only rot and break off when they're above water for awhile.

I saw people running all over water that is full of land mines, and they never hit anything.. Couldn't believe it.

I watched a boat run at an angle from the South point of Wolf over to the tip of Dale Hump Sat evening. I don't think I could idle that path without bumping something.

I saw that, too, Saturday. Couldn't believe some of the running I saw in areas that are full of stumps just under the surface.

It's kinda scary when you fish as area for a little bit and look over and see a stump that you didn't see there 5 minutes ago. Be careful out there.

4rth of july we had a boat running wide open in our shallow cove pulling kids on an inner tube. Washed my buddys boat off of the bank. I had to tell them that the kids they were pulling around in the cove could lose a leg or worse. people are stupid.

Man that's scary. why is safety something that is regularly missing around lakes?

Nice Cat btw!
