What is considered "main lake"?

I ask this because I mostly fish Cedar Creek. At the south end of the lake you have clear and caney creeks, which are obviously feeder creeks but are pretty wide and have deep water. Would fishing the points that go out into these large creeks be considered main lake, or is main lake really only the parts of the lake that these creeks feed into? This has always kinda puzzled me and seeing how summer is here I thought I should try to get some advice from more experienced fisherman(sorry if this is a dumb question).

To me, the main lake is everything that's left, if you take away all the coves.

Yea cover the feeder creeks, rivers and coves on a map and what you have left is main lake.not familiar with that lake but if there's points at the mouth of the creek sloping into the main body of water those are main lake points everything past that in the creek would be considered a secondary.

I would consider large creeks as main lake. Coves and small branches off of the large creek, not.
