Re: What's in your arsenal? - 06/04/15 12:17 PM

(1) Daiwa Steez 7.9 on a Daiwa Steez SVFXBD w/ 55lb Samurai for punching and frogging
(2) Daiwa Zillion TWS on a Fakcon Cara ST Amistad w/15lb Invisx for t rig and flipping/pitching
(3) Daiwa Steez 7.1 on Facon Cara Micro MHF w/12lb Invisx for moving baits
(4) Lews Team Lews Pro on a Falcon Cara ST Amistad micro w/12lb Invisx for t rig and jigs
(5) Shimano 1500 reel on a Falcon ML w/ 15lb braid for drop shot and when I get bored I tie on big jigs
(6) Soon to be a Shimano Albaderan on a Falcon Cara Micro ST medium for light swim baits and drop shot.

I have many more, but havn't used them in years ( St Croixs, bunch of Speed Spool various models, a GLX spinning rod). I also have a complete pile of [censored] rods and reels for the coast.

The combo used the most? By far number two. The Zillion Amistad. It is the most versatile combo I've ever had. I like it for t rig and jigs a LOT.

Tackle? 100's of jigs in all colors, styles, weights. 4 3700's with diving cranks, 1 3700 of vision 110's, 2 3700's w/ traps, 2 3700's with EWG hooks, 1 3700 with drop shot hooks/weights. 1 3700 with tungsten, 1 3700 of KVD and SPro frogs, 2 3700's with bladed jigs(spinners, chatters, and buzz), two big tubs of plastics. And a few more with odd ball stuff.

A tub of other "stuff". Daiwa lure retriever, spools of line, reel spooler, lots of regular pliers and two of the Texas Tackle ring pliers. Daiwa braid scissors. Etc.

Have not added it up but I bet that MSRP is in that area. I will just say I am a lucky person that had some great oppurtunities fall in my lap. I would be careful assuming how they were accumulated ad their cost though.

Scared to to say, the boss lady might find out. Better for her not to know so I can always be in need of another rod or reel.

Re: What's in your arsenal? - 06/05/15 02:32 AM

Fishing on a budget so I am using All Star rods with H2O Mettle reels. Not the sexiest combo out there but the price is right and the quality is much better than you would expect for sub $120 combos.

Re: What's in your arsenal? - 06/05/15 02:40 AM

Rods
Duckett White Ice
GLoomis IMX, GLX
Power Tackle 104, 104.5, 105GMS
Fenwick Techna AV

Reels
Daiwa - Steez
Shimano - Curado 5 and 7s. Calcutta 400.
Abu - Revo 5.1:1 and 3.8:1

Line
Mono - Maxima Ultragreen
Fluoro - Seguar Tatsu
Braid - Seguar Smackdown Tournament Braid OR Suffix 832. The Seguar is perfectly round, makes -0- noise going thru line guides, ties perfect knots and seems to be good with big bass in cover. I've not caught enough heavyweight LMB on the new Seguar braid to offer an opinion on relative strength. This braid is limp and easily managed. Strength has yet to be determined. By me, anyhow.
