Not a rant, but... - 06/02/15 03:32 AM
how fast is too fast? I post this in the bass section because I know tourney fishermen love fast boats and I do too up to a point. I'm sitting dead in the water under a RR bridge stowing my gear, getting ready to call it a day when I look up and see a boat coming really fast. He has the whole bridge to fly under but chooses the opening right next to me. He's got to be doing 75 mph or maybe more. I've made my living turning wrenches and I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law. Shooting a bridge like that would be a bad place to loose steering. I visited with the boat owner a little back at the ramp and he seemed like a really nice guy. His boat is a Bullet with a Merc 300hp and listening to it idle, it's not your run of the mill 300. I know everyone wants to get to their fishing hole first but at what point do you take safety out of the back seat and put it in the drivers seat? Anyway, not looking to start any controversy but rather just something to think about.
