Up close to 20 feet in the last week and still rising at close to 6 inches per hour. Wow.

Lots of flooded cover once the mud and debris settles

652 and still rising! Spinner bait and bladed jig bite should be fun! Pace bend area is nasty, lots of debris. The Perd has dumped a huge flotsam into her there.

The lake has come up another half a foot since dragonsdaddy posted and is over the 655 mark now. When was the last time it hit 660?

A friend of mine in Austin said the peninsula below The Oasis restaurant is now islands again.

Great deal for Lake Travis, Buchanan sure doesn't seem to be seeing the same progress... only up about 5 ft in past month and still 27 ft or so to go.

It looks like they have been releasing water out of Buchanan. Every lake above Travis, in fact.

Maybe they closed the gates. Buchanan was only coming up an inch or two per day until yesterday. Yesterday morning it was at 989.81. Now it's 990.49, up over 8 inches.

I don't know for sure, I am just guessing based on the water level. Whatever is going on, the silver lining to the floods is that lakes that have been way too low for way too long are coming up significantly.

Look at the graphs for the water level at LBJ and Inks. They look like a polygraph of the biggest liar anyone has ever seen.

It is obvious water is being released out of the lakes as soon as the level rises.

Re: Lake Travis - 05/26/15 06:35 PM

the flood water coming out of llano has been quite voluminous. more than enough to make lbj a supra constant level lake. many million gallons hourly for some time. i don't disbelieve the lcra on this data.

inks and lbj are going to be kept relatively stable. big inputs from floodwater make the levels quite fluctioning.

they can't let LBJ flood. There are tons of houses within a couple feet of the normal pool elevation

Yeah, I just meant there is a lot of water flowing through the entire chain that is ending up in Travis. Luckily it started off 50 feet low.
