Decent morning on Conroe

Needed to get the boat out and run her a bit. Fished from 7:30-12:30. Caught 8 between 1 and 4 lbs. Wàter 78-80 degrees slightly muddy to stained. Early bite was on char/ white chatterbaits on the backside of grasslines. Later found fish in 4-7 ft fishing standing timber/stumps on motoroil or Tequilla sunrise plastics. Couldn't get a bite on dark plastics. Learned early the fish were short striking so we had to be patient before setting the hook. Took a couple of torn off tails to figure that out. I went sat for 4 hrs. Caught 10 or so between 1-4lbs on black beavers. Shallow dirty docks back in creeks.

My wife and I were out on Saturday before the mandatory evacuation order and she caught a baby striper and a huge perch. I missed two and lost one on a charteuse spinnerbait. The lost one was @ 3 lbs.
