Struggling on Hubbard

Struggling on Hubbard - 05/23/15 03:20 AM

Finally got the boat back and made a quick run out to Hubbard. Fished from 3:30 till 8 without a bite. Are they moving into their summer patterns yet? I expected it to be tough fishing with the rain and temp changes. We spent most of the day inside the power plant jetty out of the wind, but may have been dishing too shallow for this time of year. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

The hubbard gates are open and fishing is real tough for everyone.

One of the hardest lakes to pattern fish in Texas, they simply don't follow the rules

The hubbard bite is all messed up, as usual. Fish for sand bass or catfish for the next 2 months on hubbard.

Forgive my ignorance but why does having the gates open make the fishing so difficult?

Apparently they don't like it much. They refuse to bite.
