over the lifetime of fishing? Tournaments, boats, clothing and tackle.

I know the last few years I have been spending. I would say I am doing my part of keeping the economy a float.

Man I do love an expensive sport. Sure wish I got paid for it instead of paying.

Seriously, I spent a small fortune on fishing along with some other hobbies I've had over the last 50 years, but I'd rather spend it on fishing than on physciotrist or mental institutions. The pressure cooker jobs I've have and the devils I've worked for would have killed me or drove me certified crazy if I didn't have some type of outlet to enjoy.
No hobby is cheap. I did Cowboy Actio Shooting for 10 years and that was close to $100,000. Yea, I was World Champion but more important it was an outlet. Fishing is even better 'cause you can unwind from the life-killing world around us.
Spend the money, 'cause when your health is gone, a million bucks is worthless. Might as well burn it. You can't enjoy any of it.

I have not spent too much on fishing. I have spent quite a bit on the opportunity to sit in a boat and have meaningful conversations with my son, wife, or friends. Occasionally I do just fish. It has all been worth it!
