LBJ water level

LBJ water level - 05/22/15 12:43 PM

They dropped LBJ about a foot overnight with all the water coming down the Llano and Sandy Creek. This means a lot of water is going into Lake Travis. Expect Travis to rise about 5 more feet over the weekend if the rain they predicted happens. Probably will be a lot of debris in upper end of LBJ this weekend and expect the water to be milky brown. For those fishing the Federation tournament this weekend, I expect the lower end will have a lot of boats.

I am hoping Travis comes up significantly, but LBJ is a 6,000 acre lake and Travis covers over 18,000 acres. It will take more than a foot of water out of LBJ to raise Travis a lot. But...hopefully there will be enough water flowing through LBJ so that even if they keep the lake level fairly constant Travis will still catch enough to come up a few feet.

We'll be there for the Nation Team Trail. Kinda hoping it rains steady & it thins out the pleasure boaters/jet skis... We'll be all over the lake looking for a place to hide I bet though. Hoping the upper end isn't too congested with debris barf
