Marine Creek .. ? - 05/17/15 12:59 PM
Anyone fished there during/after all this rainfall ? Any luck ??
I know it's a tough lake but, I'm thinking it won't be a muddy as most others...
Your thoughts?

It's a tough lake, but a one pounder won? Man, that's very tough.
I agree that it's probably less muddy than most of the area lakes. Not sure what the water level is, but might be worth a shot.

like you, man, seriously? 1 lb?? OMG....now that IS a tough lake. Man if you just drive and graph that lake, it just looks great but...I haven't had any success. One end just literally screams, top water/frog....I tried all one morning....not a bite.
Good Luck to any who do fish there....

How can a 1lb fish win unless it's a spot when the lake is an 18"minimum on largemouth

Lee we fished your home lake yesterday. Put in at LakeView and I was shocked at the water up north. We moved South and it was not too bad. No big fish but we caught 7 in about 3 hours. That was 7 more than I expected. Just FYI.

Pretty darn 'milky' up north wasn't it?
Well, at least you can get up there now....in time, in time..

3 Spots won the tournament at like 1.13 the water by the dam is pretty clear down lake it gets muddy. There was a really good people fishing if you catch a decent fish out of there it's a mentally challenged fish that just got lucky to survive to that size

They've got some good catfish in that pond.
It is the closest lake to my house and I never fish there...so that should tell you something about the catfish population.

If you saw the construction going on, this was why. Spoke to some guys doing work for TRWD today. They said the next phase will begin "soon". They aslo said a water ski event was being held later today into tonight. Not much detail. They were doing a work order to put a cable across the ramp by TCC. There were about a dozen bank fishers and a few folks playing in bass boats. Four other yakers.
http://fortworthtexas.gov/news/2015/03/whoop-on-the-loop-to-open-new-marine-creek-lake-trail/I fished along the rip rap and back to the foot bridge. Not a bite.
In a dozen trips since last spring, using lures, and a peanut butter grain bait Ive caught cats and carp on, I still have not caught a fish here. I've been all over it. Tried corn, too. Everyone here and people I talk to out there all say it's a tough lake to catch in. Lots of stories about big cats and nice bass though. Uh-huh. Fish tales.
Maybe I'll go up the creek next time.

Hmmm. Boat looks familiar. Story sounds familiar. Did you see a handsome guy in an orange life vest and green kayak?

Fished MC on Monday, caught one dink had 2 others follow my lure but wouldn't bite. I've caught several LMBs on it one 4+lb and several 3's and 2's, but like folks here say, it is a tough lake. Thought the topwater bite would be on, esp. frog or buzzbait but never even got a dirty look. Caught the one on a lipless cb sexy shad color. Did see several snakes, so be careful that you don't get that unexpected passenger/backseater...lol

Oh, the water color was really stained, could see down about 1 or 1 1/2'. Usually fairly clear in times past.

A buddy bank-fished there this morning and caught one about 1.5# before being encroached upon by an ornery cottonmouth. The ski event was in full swing. I drove by this afternoon and there weren't many vehicles left at the ski club area.
