Company's on selling "new" or "refurbished" products? - 05/16/15 05:19 PM

Are Company's allowed to sell you a refurbished products if you've ordered it new?

How do you even know it hasnt been defected or used?

Where do sites like Tacklewarehouse, DigitalOasis ect get there products from and what happens to returned defective products?

Has anyone been in the same boat and wondered?

Thanks

If the item description said "new", they're not allowed to sell you a refurbished product. However, they are allowed to handle warranty issues by replacing a product that you originally bought new with a functional "refurbished" product.

As far as how companies come up with refurbs, sometimes they're just excess stock when an item is being discontinued. Sometimes they're warranty returns that get repaired and resold. It's different with each company and each item.

Defective products go back to the manufacturer who may have them rebuilt. As far as how do you know, generally they are marked as reconditioned and come with a different warranty.

Buying doesnt bother me as I feel they probably looked at building the returned product more than the original
