Yea, wow! I am scared something like this will happen to me someday. Stories like this make me more cautious on the water.

Glad Byron and his passenger are alive.

Cruiser wakes and bass boats don't mix.

I assume he is sponsored by Livingston Lures. Pretty cool to have a group from Livingston assisting him with his boat, flight, thru this ordeal.

Wow that's first I've heard about the accident. Horrible luck. Wish him the best.

Holy crud. That's scary. I've been there when you come up on that hidden trough at speed, but never one big enough to do any damage, just enough to make you pucker up real nice. Talk about a BAAAAAAD feeling. . .seeing that hole in the lake at speed. . .

Glad he is okay.

Anytime you are on a body of water where big boats are present, such as Texoma, you have to be ultra aware of what is in front of you if you are going to drive fast like that. Those cruiser wakes come up on you quick when your traveling fast. A hot foot with loops and trim buttons on the steering wheel are absolutely necessary if you are going to drive like he was driving.

Speed kills. If you're going to drive fast get up on that steering wheel and pay attention.

Wow, I had an incident on Lewisville about a month ago, scared the [censored] out of me and my wife, from now on I will not be running 75 on lakes that have the big boats, well unless it is at 7 in the morning, the big boats are usually parked at that time. grin

Last time I ran my boat wide open was on texoma early one morning. I was peeking at the gps and just as it hit 74mph I saw the lake drop about 2 foot infront of me. Sent me airborne but luckily I drove through it without any problems.

Glad he's ok.
Lake Lewisville is horrible about huge wakes from those big boats. On a day with no wind there will be 2ft waves from 1 end of the lake to the other..

Re: WOW - 05/05/15 04:04 PM

that happened to me this past weekend at pk doing about 55-60 and was passing hells gate and saw a 60 foot party boat on idle but like he said it had just got of plain and its 3 ft wake was hidden until it was to late. whole boat went air born and the bow was about 16 ft and the back was around 5 ft out of the water. time slowed down and in the back of my head i heard somone singing jesus take the wheel. but really it was with out a doubt the scariest moment in a bass boat. and all of the compartments on the front deck were flung open. when we realized what had just happend and clean our pants we caried on after about five minutes to say a prayer let our loved ones know we love them. we never hit over 25 the rest of the day

How about the seaplane that was damaged from hitting a wave on lake tyler. would be willing to bet it was a wakeboard boat wake. Was out there two weeks ago and they were already pulling tubes.

bolt

I'm out!!! WOW SCARY SCARYY

worst are wake surfers, they fill the fat sacks up... and surf, no rope after you get started, 3 foot minimum.

I've taken more bow waves from the wake boarders than the wind over the last few years, and it's not even close. Those boats are dangerous and usually being driven by teenage kids. What could possibly go wrong right. . .
