If you are going to throw it in heavy cover then it is hard to beat an M - pack. I have had a lot of less hang ups with these jigs. However, it all depends on what you are confident with.

I'm not too particular on wood, but typically throw a Davis or SK Hackney jig just because of the hook....but if you are throwing in grass, check out Combat Lures swim jig. Not promotional staff or anything but he's got something special others haven't done. That head is the flat out best form for grass fishing...long cone shape. It puts others to shame the way it comes through grass and you won't know it til you use it right after some other swim jig. A local texas bait maker to boot. Colors shown on his site aren't my favorite but he will do whatever you want, buddy of mine got a perch one (called platoon) and it's pretty.

D&M Flip N Spin This bait is what I throw. I love it because it doubles as spinnerbait too. Durable and has a good hook.
The new Stanley swim jig is worth looking at. Redesigned around the new beefy hook. Flat out catcher.

MPack Lures. Been catching a ton of quality fish this year including some nice one's caught with Mark Pack last Thursday on his facebook page. My shoulder still hurts from those Fork bass slamming that bait.

Don't remember who makes it. It's been tied on for around a year now. Lol. I think it's a mop jig with a vertical line tie in the hook. Slender head profile. GREAT trailer keeper. Natural rubber skirt. Comes through grass easily.
I've beat the paint off it a few times and use some automotive touch up paint on it to make it look better from time to time.
Maybe I'll take a pic of it and post it here for someone to identify. I'd like to buy a few more of them. I think I bought it at fun n sun, but I live a long ways from there. If I get it identified, I will have to order some via the "net".
