Donation Items to Support Military Softball Team - 04/30/15 04:09 PM

Fellow Bass Anglers,

I know this is short notice but thought it would be worth a shot; Sheppard AFB (Wichita Falls) has brought back its Men's Varsity Softball Team this year after a few years absence. The team dismantled a few years back in large part due to funding cuts in military varsity sports. Despite the lack of funding we have started the team up again and so far have been self-funded. The team is holding its only fundraiser May 8-10 in the form of a softball tournament for the intramural sports program on base. In conjunction with the tournament we are holding a homerun derby, a cornhole tournament, and a silent auction as an additional way to raise funds.

The team consists of 9 active duty members, 2 retirees, 1 veteran, 1 contract employee, and 1 dependent of an active duty member. We have already participated in the Commander's Cup at Lackland AFB and will be traveling to the Military Band-Aid in Colorado Springs, CO, the Texas Military State Tournament in San Antonio, and Military World's in Columbus, GA within the next few months.

If any guides or lodging facilities between Wichita Falls and Lake Fork are able or willing to donate as a silent auction item we would be extremely grateful. Or if any of you on here have the ability to donate an item for the silent auction we would also be most thankful for any support that you may be able to provide.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. I appreciate you all taking the time to read this post!

Skeeter Fowler should jump on this, he is an ex-player. With a good heart.

Because of the weather here in Wichita Falls we have rescheduled the tournament for next weekend May 15-17 if anyone still wants to provide any donations!
