O. H. Ivie - 04/16/15 05:55 PM

Anyone headed down for the weekend? I'm headed down tomorrow night again in another quest for the SAL.

Looking forward to breakfast and burgers at Elm Creek. thumb

If anyone sees a blue/silver full metal flake Skeeter, stop by and say Hey!

Thanks again Chris for helping me get off the water before that storm hit a couple weeks ago.

Not a problem at all! From the looks of the weather you guys down there should start paying me to come down. Every time I make it down, it rains......

Stop by the room for a cold beer if your around this weekend. I think im down in the west rooms this trip.

Well I wished I could report back on having to call the State to get the truck rolling, but I struggled a little bit getting a consistent bite.

I didn't catch anything huge, had two over 5 and one really nice smallmouth that was around 4 lbs.

Had a weird thing happen Saturday afternoon though. I was fishing a ledge and saw something floating/swimming in circles about 40 yards away. Went over to it and found a BIG bass on top. I'm not sure how big, but was longer than my 11.87 I had out there.
She couldn't swim down 3 ft without floating back up. I went a head and fizzed her. Seemed like it took forever for her to become neutral, never had one with so much air in her before.

As soon as I pulled the needle out, she shook her head and took off like a 3 year old in the candy isle. Couldn't tell anywhere that she had been caught, and had no other trauma, so I'm not sure what made her be like that. Weird for sure, but glad I could help.

It was pretty slow for us. It was a great day to be on the water Saturday till the storm came in. Then is was a mad house at the boat ramp. We were back on the water Sunday morning and got off the lake around noon. It was blowing pretty good and the wife had all she wanted. All in all a good time. Ready to go back.

Actually caught 3 this trip out. Two came from the dam and I caught the other one on a top water on the south side of the north island.

They are fun to catch but even more fun on a top water.
I wish they would stock them back into PK
