Another GREAT Day on Fork - 04/11/15 02:01 AM
Another great day on Fork! For my customers, Denny and Bob from Ohio, it was a day of firsts. Denny caught his personal best, a few times And Bob, he had never caught a fish on an artificial lure before our trip. So his first bass, an 8lber (he's the big guy) was a personal best as well. These guys fell in love with our lake right away.
We forget sometimes just how good we have it here in east Texas.
We were targeting pre and post-spawn fish on structure. We found that casting with the wind, across the area was the key to getting bit. It was funny, almost every big bite came on the same angled cast. Some days are funny like that. We have been looking for fish in 6-12' on subtle points where the fish stage up coming and going from spawning areas. The bite slowed down when the clouds cleared up, but the biggest of the day came in the sunshine.
