What's some things you've lost??

Truck keys, knife, caps, pliers, and wallet. Everything said I'd be more upset over losing a TM and graph than all my items combined.

The TM flying off hurt my feelings a little bit. But I was crusing 50 or so when I flew off. I'm just thankful it didn't hit my 11 ur old son who was in the passenger seat

Knives, anchors, a dog, a watch, and 2 cellphones

So far I have only lost one Blackberry.

2 garmin graphs one on Lake Ontario the other on Cayuga Lake. An anchor, couple phones, one rod, caught someone else's a few months later, it was nice shimano crucial set up for drop spotting. So many drop shot weights that I decided to buy a mold and make my own. A few Plano boxes with baits. Bunch of hats, one pair of glasses.

A few caps and a couple of pair of sunglasses. Of course plenty of baits but if your not hanging them up every now and then your not fishing them right.

Man. If I lost Rod and reels, I'd be back in the water with my scuba gear within an hour! Sheeeet! No way I'd donate that kind of money to a lake without a "search and rescue"! Lol. I'd mark the way point on the graph, and beach the boat as close to my house as I could. Of course, that's if I was at my home lake. If it's during a tourney, it's more than likely lost. I wouldn't stop fishing till it was too late. But would probably still return to try. Haha. My reels are like kids to me. Couldn't stand losing them.

He sank. Jumped off the back after the kids jumped off. He hit the water and kept going. Never thought to put a life jacket on a dog..Hell I've see dogs on tv swim. This one didn't.

So far this year.. nothing but lures, thankfully. But it is only april

Couple of dozen pairs of glasses. I still haven't learned not to turn around and look at WOT.

Lots of scales, as well as several pairs of hook removers. All of these were lost in the same pattern.
Weigh fish or remove hook, throw scales or hook remover in lake and throw fish in floor of boat.
I stopped buying scales it is such a problem.

I think I have drain bamage.

Two rod and reel combos; got one back. Prolly a few hats. Lots of high dollar lures. I'm a real stickler for putting everything away when I'm done with it so there isn't much to fall out or drop on the deck of my boat. Both combos I threw in the lake. A combination of heavy lures and sweaty hands.

Other then lost lures, in 45 yrs of fishing all I can recall is

Lost a $600 dollar I Phone 6 at Toledo Bend last week that I had bought 5 days earlier.

What's the story on the talon?

Fell off coming out of Dale, bracket and all.
Never got to use it, it was second weekend with it. Were not sure what happened just glad insurance covered it.

A dog? That's sad. My dogs jumped overboard but I never lost them to the bottom.

We had a little dog once that jumped off the boat and sank like a rock. It was shallow water and my brother was able to get him back up quickly. He must have held his breath because he never coughed or nuthin, but he wouldn't jump out of the boat anymore after that.
I've lost rods, glasses, phones, anchors, boat seats, hats, knives, measure boards, tackle box, and about two thirds of the fiberglass off the bottom of a brand new skeeter boat once at lake fork.
Have found quite a few items that others lost also to make up for some of it.

Haven't lost a rod yet but have been swimming a couple times to retrieve them.

two anchors, had to cut one off got hung in a submerged tree in 25 feet of water,..

The first time I had my duck dog in the boat I kind of lost her she thought she was supposed to swim beside me, not ride in it. I like to have never convinced her to stay in the boat.

So far just pliers and lures. Somehow nothing important yet. I have caster a rod and it slipped out of my hand and went strait in the water. Threw phone down and immediately jumped in and got it. The water was freezing and it was cold outside but I wasnt loosing my favorite rod. Still continued to fish freezing and soaking wet with wet jeans, boots, and hoodie. And then one time my sons buddy casted a crank bait and snagged my rod and threw it in the lake. He again immediately jumped in and got it before it sank. And I have been close to falling out of boat. Numerous times! Haven't yet though!!!

Sunglasses, Hats and lures don't count. They're supposed to go in the water. I lost a $300.00 rig once ( a lot for me ) and sat there with a heavy jig until I fished it out. The dude with the chain saw wins.

I caught a women's purse at Richland Chambers. I thought I had caught something valuable that the person would want back. I bet it had 50 packages of faded out stick worms in it.

Every couple months a post like this pops up and it's enough to keep me motivated to strap down the trolling motor before a run and to be ultra cautious of deck mounted rod bungees A.K.A rod launchers.

A fairly high dollar rod and reel sits at the bottom of Squaw Creek courtesy of a crank bait getting hung on a windshield of a Ranger 373V. I have a friend who lost a huge tackle bag and 20+ years worth of tackle to the bottom of Rayburn somewhere in the vicinity of Cassels-Boykin Ramp. A Goretex Ranger Cap at he bottom of Strom Thurman Reservior, and several pairs of sunglasses at a bunch of different lakes.

I witnessed a few of my buddies losing gear.

I was fishing fork maybe 10 years ago. I was a backseater and my partner somehow managed to launch his rod and reel on a cast into Lake Fork near some deep water we were Carolina rigging. He just bent down and got another rod and started fishing a jig. I mentioned the lost rod and he just said "Oh you saw that?" I asked him if he wanted to try and recover it he just said "Na it was old anyway. I need to get a new rig anyhow" and kept fishing. This same guy knocked two rods and reels off his boat also on Fork. We were in heavy timber. We tried for awhile but never recovered them.

I was fishing Kickapoo (Palestine) several years ago and another fishing buddy measured a fish and proceeded to throw the measuring board in the lake instead of the short fish. He just groaned stripped down to his skives got in the water (maybe three feet deep) and found the board (we needed it as we were only about an hour into the tournament). A few fish later this same guy unhooked another small fish and for some reason threw the pliers into the lake and was still holding the fish. The water was deeper so he did not even consider trying to get them back.

I keep records on stuff like this...Since 1996

Look at the trolling motor stabilizer from Ram Mounts... It will give you more confidence going across the lake.

About 30 years ago I saw a guy on Spence lose his entire speed boat....it had a chrome 455 engine....he just bought it....never even got to run it....it sat real low in the water.....when a boat came by and the wake washed over the gunnel of the speed boat.......down she went.....probably still there.....
