Re: Lake Fork Guide Tourney Updates. - 01/31/15 10:54 PM

Grills
Paris
Brooks
Pack

Cody and I had 4 for 16, just couldn't get a 5th or big kicker. OK considering we had 0 at 11 with Plan A.

Seriously?

The tournament director was working his tail off receiving texts from all of the contestants and doing a great job of running the tournament.

I swear some of you guys will gripe and complain about anything.

Yeah, but probably not fair to compare it to last year.

The only thing I'm griping about is I didn't getta come play with y'all. Sounds like a great time was had by all and congrats to team Grills.

Re: Lake Fork Guide Tourney Updates. - 01/31/15 11:42 PM

Steve, I was only comparing it to the update part. No doubt the TD did a great job, but the minute by minute, edge of your seat updates were not there this year. The first "update" was 2 1/2 hours into the tournament. Maybe the TD didn't have enough help.

Re: Lake Fork Guide Tourney Updates. - 02/01/15 05:17 PM

I have fished it every year since it started....it is a good event for a good cause in pumping business into this area during a typically slow time for them. Good to see some familiar faces and meet some new people.
Will look forward to it again next year.

Thanks to Billy for stepping up to organize! Thanks to Patrick and David among some others for helping out. Thanks to Jason for doing a great job tallying the results. It was a great time plenty of food (the Twok grill is awesome!) and free beer. Thanks Cody for coming out of hibernation to fish, we found a quality bite, it was just too late. Thanks to LFM for the lodging and I drew their $100 gift certificate. Thanks to JP, Cody drew the nice flashlight from TFF. Thanks to Oak Ridge for all the food and hosting the weigh-in. Thanks to Wagonwheel and East Fork for... well, you know. laugh

Then just use the forum as a place for everyone to log in their fish weight and photos. Set up a post and everyone gets pics and weights real time. I just fixed it for everyone and now the TD can sit back and at the end of the tourney print a couple pages and do some math.

Re: Lake Fork Guide Tourney Updates. - 02/02/15 02:59 PM

We also had a blast just didn't catch them...only had 4 fish for something like 9 and change. We should have never left the area we started in because we went back and finished up there and caught 2 quick fish. We fished a lot of different stuff too. Very shallow, very deep and a bunch in between. Still had a blast and really enjoy this event. Thanks for putting it together. We will be back next year.

Re: Lake Fork Guide Tourney Updates. - 02/02/15 05:31 PM

I have also fished all three of these thus far, each time with a different guide. I have thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie, as well as having a shot at catching a biggun while out on the water.

A big shout out to our guide this year, Greg West, who worked very hard to try and put us on some fish. It was a tough day, but me and the other angler (Gary) really enjoyed ourselves. I know I personally learned a lot from Greg, and plan to fish with him some more. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and hardworking guide, I would highly recommend you give Greg West a shot to earn your business.

Shout out to Billy, Stax, Hole Shot, Jason Ramage, as well as all of the sponsors and goodies that got given out.

Will look forward to next year! Maybe we could do this during the spawn....

Had a absolute blast out there this weekend. Was great meeting all the new people and putting faces with names I have already met.
Can't say enough about fishing with James Niggemeyer, great guy and fun to cut up with.

Sorry I couldn't stay Saturday and party it up with yall, but I had to get home and find my liver...

Great format for everyone to be involved, and even though I suck at catching fish, atleast I did win a tackle pack for the biggest under 2.41...... Would have liked to have that during McDonalds or Megabass...
