Opening day of deer and duck season. Lake should be empty besides maybe a small club tournament.

I'll be in the National Forest looking for Bambi Daddy. Got a pic of an nice 8 point feeding on the corn in my back yard on Rayburn at 1138pm Saturday. Now come out at Daylight and you'll be on the wall!!!

You'll have the lake all to yourself this weekend!

Except for 1 team, it sucked for everyone in the Bassnbucks championship this weekend.

Sucked for us college anglers too. two day total of 29lbs won it. took 11lbs a day to qualify

There is always that 1 team & that 1 place no matter what the conditions,
from the looks of the championship results it really wasn't that bad for fishing. 15-20lbs per day and lots of 5 fish stringers.

30lbs was 2nd place! Guess you haven't followed bass bucks championships over the past 10 years.

College -- 2 day total 29# = 15#/day average
Bass n Bucks -- 30# was second place = 15#/day average

15--20lbs per day 5 fish stringers, is what I posted Mr Latta.
I "think" I looked at the Championship results correct when the site was up.
& your right, I care nothing about the BnB Champ for the last 10 years. I was just commenting that the fishing appeared to be fairly good on Sam Rayburn for "normal" folks that don't have to have 50lb sacks of fish.

Re: Rayburn this weekend, 11-1 - 10/28/14 02:16 PM

You gotta realize that is 15# average for TWO guys that spent countless hours on the lake leading up to the event prefishing. Fishing is not all that great on Rayburn right now. Looking at tournament results is not necessarily an accurate way to tell how the fishing is on a lake...especially in a championship where lots of hours are spent practicing.

Lots of room at all the ramps. Just pick and choose your favorite one!

Thanks for all the info, I'm sure we will find some fish and maybe some crappies too.

You guys going hunting, be safe, sit all day and bring your snacks and good luck.

As people have said, the ramps will all be wide open. Fishing has been good last couple weeks. Pretty easy to catch the numbers but not many big ones.
