Favorite wacky worm hook - 03/17/14 12:09 AM

Whats your favorite wacky worm hook? I like the lake fork tackle one, also the owner with a weed guard. The only problem is after one fish the weed guard is toast. Im trying a couple other ones but want to hear from the experts. Thanks

I use a 3/0 Gamagatsu widegap and have for years. I don't like any of the small circle hooks, weighted hooks,or hooks with weedgaurds.

I use a 1/0 Gammy wide gap finesse hook, pins them in the roof of the mouth the vast majority of the time. I didn't like how small it was in the beginning but I've had zero issues with it.

Falcon Lures "K" weedless wacky hook, weighted and unweighted, with a wacky saddle.
I tried several brands and these are by far the best weedless versions for me.
That 13.29 I caught at Ivie last summer would agree!

I use a Mister Twister hook for wacky rig. I just use a short piece of worm to make it completely weedless. I have used hooks with weed guards, but I like this hook much better. There have been many times when the wire weed guard disengaged & would get hung up. I have used this rig in the thickest cover you can fish & have never had a problem.
Sorry about the size of the photo; I don't know how to make it smaller.
Good Luck,
Mike
