True story. When I was a kid we lived in Ohio where they had very steep hills.
Ok, my father and a neighbor were working on a car. Hudson Hornet V8 I think. Anyway, they decided to push it to the hill that falls off sharply and 'pop the clutch' while one was on the engine compartment fender while POURING STARTER FLUID in the carburetor to get it started. Now I was just a kid, so I like we all did, and my friends had to go with them and watch.
Thankfully, my Dad was the driver and his friend/neighbor 'Arnold' sat on the fender.
LOL
I don't know how far they went down that hill but not very far and were going fast, and Arnold told Dad to turn on the key and 'pop the clutch' in low gear!!
OMG,
I wish I had a picture of that. The thing flashed up/then blew up/blowing Arnold some feet from the road and my Dad somehow got the car stopped.
I will NEVER forget that OR the moment we went home and he had to explain what happened to the car and Arnold........too funny!! These were grown men.....
VERY True story...from long long ago...
