Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 12:39 PM

Right at an inch over the past week here in San Antonio. Forecast states 2 to 4 inches of rain over the next couple of days. Friends of mine who live on Lake Dunlap stated they had received a little over an inch this past week. Hopefully we get a lot more. thumb

Side Note: Weather statement stated that far west Texas is getting a pretty good soaking and the Colorado River will be getting a good charge. Statement further stated that the flow is going to help out the lower lakes such as Lake Buchanan and Lake Travis. It is going to take a LOT of rain to help those lakes but anything is better than nothing. eeks

Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 02:32 PM

Just a little over 2 inches between Yantis and Sulphur Springs and still raining ! Much needed so I hope it keeps on coming. Just Maybe they will get enough in Ray Hubbard and Tawakoni so they wont have to pump here next week.

Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 02:59 PM

Rockwall 0.78
Garland 0.74
Rowlett 0.74

So I guess Ray Hubbard isn't going to get that much help.

Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 06:23 PM

3.5 here 12 miles north of Lake Fork. Need lots more, we have plenty of space for several more inches of rain. Can you imagine the lake filling up over the weeds that are along the shore line ! I remember back in 96 when it was low and filled up over some flooded willow bushes. I thought I was at Rayburn. Caught fish flipping bushes till they vanished ! Fun Times !

So if we got 3" here in arlington does that mean that lake arlington will only rise 3"? I would guess it would rise more do to water coming out of drains etc...

Got a daughter in Austin. Yes she went over to the dark side. Anyone know what this might do to Travis?

Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 10:54 PM

Checked several online NWS, weatherbug, and personal weather stations online. All of them north of Longview had totals ranging from 4-6". We had 4" here in town and based on the creek flooding we had here in Longview, I fully expect to see the Lakes jump up some in elevation! Finally!

Now if only the ACOE doesn't pull the plug and start draining Pines again!

Amistad up a foot and a half since yesterday, with a bunch more headed that way.

Re: Rain totals? - 09/20/13 11:32 PM

You would think Fork should come up another couple of feet minimum.

Travis needs a lot more. I doubt it will come up much. LCRA likes to send water down to the rice farmers.
