Dual Pro Charger Flashing Red on one of the Banks - 04/13/13 06:13 PM

Swapped the leads of two batteries and the flashing went to the other bank. Anything I can check before replacing the battery?

That's what I figured. This battery is only a year old. It's an Interstate. Wonder if they have a warranty or something.

Also, are you supposed to leave your charger plugged in all the time?

Interstate would be under warranty
I keep mine plugged in

Depends on the charger on if you should leave it plugged in all the time.

Charge the bad battery with a regular charger. If a battery gets to low the on board charger will not charge it..

Hook up the bad battery to a regular chatger and see if it will recharge. If it trips your regular charger it has a bad cell and needs to be replaced. I have had 2 Interstates go bad on me in the year I have had them. Will be looking to replace with something different next time.

Battery is charging fine at Autozone. Fingers crossed that it was too low for the on board to charge.

Your problem is Interstate batteries! Gave up on them a long time ago!

I have never had a problem with the interstate battery....once you get it charged a little put the on board charger back on to see if everything is good to go. It should be fine,it has happened to me several times.

I think you wrong on this one! If the onboard charger want charge it what makes you think any other charger would charge it?

Dual pro chargers are far from junk. And he is correct they will not barge a battery that is totally dead.

Battery is completely charged and good per Autozone. I'll throw it in the boat tomorrow morning and report back for those keeping score.

No score to keep as long as you are up and running.

Mine has done the same thing twice. Both times it was a bad battery.

You can also take a set of jumper cables from the good battery to the bad battery, that will trick the charger.

Don't let your battery get that low dual pro will not kick in recharge every time you get off then unplug when done then give it a quick charge before you go the night before also check your water.

Re: Dual Pro Charger Flashing Red on one of the Banks - 04/14/13 10:10 PM

Ok, so the battery on bank 3 was yesterday. Today the battery on bank 2 will only charge to 20% and just sits there. A different charger says it is 95% but it is a piece of [censored] from Walmart. Any ideas?

Re: Dual Pro Charger Flashing Red on one of the Banks - 04/14/13 11:48 PM

new batteries and keep your boat plugged in and this will be over.

Any onboard charger will not pick up a battery that is below 7v. More than likely your batteries sat so long with out a charge they are smoked anyways. Batteries are cheaper than the headache you are going thru.

Check the fuse connections, those things are [censored], usually
