Went today. Boated twelve solid slot fish (none less than 2.5#) pulled off six others. Water temp 62 degrees. All fish caught in six feet or less. Traps and chatterbaits. Slow retrieve.
Air temp. 32-48 degrees.
I've heard that The Oak motel in LaGrange is reasonable and clean.

Fayette is an awesome lake and they cabins on the lake at the small boat ramp, can't recall the name at this time but I am sure you can Google it!

FYI to all readers; the place that used to be called the Bunkhouse at Highway 21 and FM 1441 is being completely renovated. I have stayed there a few times and it was definitely overdue for work. It should be very nice when they are done.

Call and reserve your cabin at Oak Thicket, they dont have that many cabins.Just Looked in phone book-Oak Thicket Park on Lake Fayette-4819 W ST Hwy 159 Phone # 979-249-3504.
Hope this helps, as far as fishing I like the points, and even the dam with tx rigged worms. Just remember the over 24inch slot limit. Catch and release! Best of luck!

You can book at the gate for short notice (try your luck) but for reservations you have to call the number. They will call you back and let you know availability. Good cabins, easy fishing and they have power at the parking slots for chargers.
