Worst Fishing Show on TV?

What show do you least prefer?

I hate all the ones that are 30 minute infomercials each week. WFN has some bombs, but I know everyone doesnt get that network.

Dance, Grigsby, Fishing University are a few that come to mind.

only thing that irritates me with Roland, is watching him pucker up and drink that stoopid 5 hour energy drink.. LOL!! i can stand the "oh son!".. I actually catch myself saying it.. LMAO!!

I like Grisby as a angler and person but cant watch his show though. "Theres no way I could of landed this bass that I caught on this STRIKE KING KING SHAD with out my SUFFIX LINE on my SIGNITURE QUANTUM SWIMBAIT ROD out of my new TRITON BASSBOAT being driven around with my MERCURY OPTIMAX OUTBOARD stuck in the mud with my dual POWER POLES and absolutely no way could of found this honey hole with out my new HD LOWRANCE DEPTHFINDER". He just throws the sponsors out there to much for me. I understand they pay the bills but man tone it down a bit. JMO

It's hard to blame them. Have to keep the sponsors happy or there is no show. I actually learn quite a bit watching Dance and Grigsby. Heck, even the Honey Hole show today was an infomercial for Kicker Baits.

I don't like the one on ESPN, or used to be, with that guy from Boston....what's his name...oh yea, "Beat Charlie Moore". I mean no disrespect to Charlie, I'm sure he's just trying to make a living, but wow. I can't stand the show.

Charlie Moore is a train wreck. Maybe if he didn't have such a thick accent it would be better. I liked Hank Parker but I haven't seen it in a while.

Can't take Roland anymore and Grigsby kinda makes me throw up in my mouth a little. There's a difference between giving time to your sponsor and being an outright whore. I recognize the greatness of them both as they both do what I have dreamed of for years, but can't watch them anymore.

Kinda makes ya wonder what a KVD fishing show would be like... (yeah, I know he kinda does The Bass Pros and stuff, but a dedicated KVD show)

I saw one the other day called, "Hook & Look". I would like to have seen them show more underwater footage of the fish hitting the baits but the show is a unique idea and pretty cool to watch.

The Infisherman mostley because there isn't a whole lot of Pike and Walleye around here. As a kid I couldn't wait to get home from church and watch me some Wallace Wildlife, Jimmy Houston, and Cajin Phil mixed in with Wild Kingdom. I don't know if the shows were really all that good, or I didn't have many other choices.

The guy on WFN...Jarred Edwards..?? Can't stand his voice and his fishing skills aren't much better than mine...:)

I like Dance and watch Hank Parker whenever I run across him.

Yes, Hook and Look is pretty cool. A little corny at times with pushy Strike King baits but the show is shot in a unique way and gives viewers some good information.

I have to agree with Mark. I like them all. If you have a DVR you can fast forward thru a lot of the BS. That being said there is a lot to be learned from these guys even when you think you know everything.

All 6 (with the exception of Charlie Moore) "could" be decent shows if they talked a lot less about their products, and talked a lot more about fishing theory, patterns, techniques, and show actual depths, lake maps, and why they chose to fish there at that time. Somebody should sit with a stopwatch one day and time each of the shows for actual fishing and explanations of what they are doing. I bet all 6 don't add up to 20 minutes of usefull air time in my opinion. (Only thing that would help Charlie's show, is if they replaced him, because I know he won't shut up.)

i wouldn't mind kicking Jimmy Houston in the face..

I believe its called Bass Edge with Aaron Martens. Cant stand his laugh. Worse then Ike's yelling and thats pretty bad.

It's definitely one of my favorites. Local lakes and good honest folks doing the show. I have heard some criticism lately and I don't get it. I can see some of the other answers but I didn't think Honey Hole would ever come up in this thread. To each his own I guess.

It's Aaron Martin, not Aaron Martens. Aaron Martens is a BASS Pro and doesn't have a show yet (I would love to see one where he goes to public lakes only on Saturdays). Even if the guy on Bass Edge is goofy he at least tries hard to give a little info. He does have strong guests that often save the show.

Whatever happened to Freddy Grant? Anyone remember him? He would explain the areas he was fishing and why the fish were there and at the end of the show he would show you on a lake map the places he was fishing.

Don't mind charlie moore and like honey hole cause it's local and I can see some stuff you don't see on the "big name" shows

Charlie Moore's shows hands down. He has a bass fishing show on NESN (part of the regional Fox Sports Network). I've tried to watch because I've fished the northeast quite a bit but it is a mental beating.

Most of the fishing shows suxs now of days.

I rarely watch any fishing shows, Try to watch Honey Hole if they are fishing a lake I am interested in.

Zona's show is greatness. Where else can you hear "Baby Cub"?

Also, couldn't deal with Orlando Wilson back in the day. The theme song was a kick in the nuts every time it came on.

And Charlie Moore's wife is a hot. They did a show from the Cayman Islands and it was their anniversary and she spent the entire show in a bikini. I think they fished for something, just can't recall...

Some arent very good at all, but ANY fishing show is better than the Syncronized Swimming Championships and Poker shows they seem to want to air anymore.

Ike was mentioned, i gotta say City Limits is a show without a lot of advertising, i like that 1.

I like the Bill Dance Bloopers shows, but watching Bill Dance sell his baits on that same pond every week I don't miss. Anyone that can get the same 8lb fish to blow up on a hydrofoam frog 8 casts in a row shouldn't be allowed on TV. Grigsby is in the same mold that he is a salesman first, an educator 2nd. Strike King's show, again because all they are doing is trying to sell me something.

Match Play fishing, FLW, BASS tournament shows are my favorite. City Limits Fishing just because Ike fails sometimes, kind the anti Bill Dance. The SW fishing report, because I am new to the area and it is local. That should be starting up again soon. The Bass Pros, just because it is bass and more bass. Classic Patterns sometimes, but not all the shows are good. I also DVR Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and InFisherman. Those shows are OK sometimes.

I get a kick out of Zona, but I think it's Charlie Pack's reruns from mid 1990's where he keeps every fish it seems. Makes me want to poke a hole in his boat!

Very tired of Rowland Martin, he lies on the show. "I cast right over there and caught this thing" and he standing there holding the other guys fish. I've even seen the other guy call him out on it he ignores them.

Like IKE, Bass Pros, Criciatl Concepts, Bill Dance is ok, Scott Martin challenge is okay, honey hole, etc. I pretty much watch all the fishing shows I can that are Bass fishing, trying to learn all I can in the shortest amount of time possible.

Of course, like Dance says, to learn to fish, you have to fish to learn!
