In 8’ of water, how far out can you effectively use lVS 34? Just installed mu unit and it seemed that tje shallower I got the less the range was.

At 8 feet deep you probably would be better served to use perseptive mode.

In 8ft I usually put mine about 50ft. & will change the depth accordingly. As far as how far it will shoot, never tried to look at that.
Offshore I usually keep it at 80 to 100ft.

What is the range of the unit whenever you are fishing a flat that’s about 7-9 acres in size and pretty much 2-4 feet deep throughout the whole flat. Does it give you any advantage?

Rotate it up one click. That will help increase the effectiveness in shallower water. Mine stays on 100 foot and I feel like it is effective at that range up until about 5-6 foot of water.
