Slade Dougharty… The Best!

I had the chance to go out with Slade this past Friday to get my Lowrance units dialed, and boy did he get them dialed. We spent 3 hours going over the units and him showing me not only how he set them up but the reasons behind his methods and then how to use the graphs to their fullest potential.

I can absolutely say that I learned more in the time with Slade than I have anywhere else!

Slade is the one to see for setting up your graph and teaching you how to use it.

Does he recommend 455hz for side scan? I figured the higher frequency the better.

Yes, when we were looking at the difference the 455 has that much wider cone and therefore when set up with the right pallate and contrast it showed ALOT of detail all the way out to 80ft where are 800 is a smaller cone and only showed to about 50ft and then the picture darkens.

PS: What Lowrance and transducer are you using? I have Carbon units with the Total Scan setup.

I have a Carbon 12 at the console with an Active Image 3-N-1.
Then I have a Live 9 with an HDI transducer on the TM.

That is spooky cool. I fished with Slewfoot for crappie earlier this year. We were on Lake of the Pines. His Livescope is amazing. Its like a video game.

There's a bunch of tires at Lake Fork on the end of the SRA point in about 28 feet water.

Slade is the man. He set Humminbirds up when I got my boat. I'll probably meet up with him again this fall for a re-fresher course.

Here’s a different view of those tires sitting above them. Slade had mine dialed in where you can see the tread on tires!

Slade is the man when it comes to any graph. He even did some of the pros graphs when they were at Fork. As far as the tires, that’s where all the Good Year marathons belong.
