Lewisville Reports - 01/29/20 10:11 PM

Anything recent? Going Sunday when it’s nice out... is the dam still holding fish or run up into Hickory Creek?

Hickory is cold chocolate milk. I cant get anything to work. There is plenty of clean water to fish. The dam is always there, but I don't know if it is holding fish

I plan to fish it Saturday and was wondering the same thing. I'll do my best to post a report Saturday night with water temps and whatnot. It will be nice to take a break from the beating I take on Ray Roberts.

Following this...wanting to hit Lewisville soon as well. But Roberts, heck many around here, should be turning on soon.

Lots of boats out running around this morning. We are camping at Pilot Knoll and I was awoken by a Mercury flying across the lake, that was very rude...

I predict it was extremely slow.

Water is low 50s. Bait is in 35 fow. The bass metabolism is the slowest it will be all year, waters muddy.

Shockingly spinnerbaits and square bills did not hack it.

Bass fishing in Jan/Feb is junk.

Re: Lewisville Reports - 02/03/20 12:34 PM

I wish I had something different to report, but I struggled too. Everyone I talked Saturday didn't do well either. Same observations here, bait was in 35 fow and I marked bass but could not get them to eat.

Same story on most of the lakes around the metromess. Stained water, big release rates, and cold water temps... thats a tough combination for catching. Graphed tons of bait and fish in 20-30 FOW on both Grapevine and Ray Roberts over the weekend, didn't matter what part of the lake I was on, as soon as it dropped to 20 the graph would light up.

Heading to Fork in about 30 mins. Tail end of a nice warming trend prior to big front may just fire them up. We'll see over the next two days.

I hit LL on Sunday before the SB and hit one of Don Harpers spots and had a solid day. Caught 6 and best 5 were a little over 16 lbs. That’s a stellar day for me for winter, even though it was 70 plus degrees. These were my best 4.

Fish were biting better before the cold muddy water came in, but the water temps were lower before that too it was 47 to 49 degrees. Mike K how was the fishing in Pilot Knoll been turned off the last 2 trips for me.

About the only fun I had this past weekend was giving boat rides to kids, no fishing for me
