Most overused fishing cliche'? - 10/15/18 01:26 AM
For me, it's "put more fish in the boat." Used to sell everything from lures to motor oil and battery terminal cleaners. Okay, enough. I get it.
I like what Gary Dollahon says on Fox Sports SW: "You can't catch 'em if you don't go."
Okay, rant over. Back to fishin'

Re: Most overused fishing cliche'? - 10/15/18 04:27 PM
Anytime the lake is rising an inch an hour, the bilge pump stays on all day, your feet are soaked, the fish are scattered in 90,000 acres of flooded bushes and in a mood of not biting, massive rain for 2 days, slinging big baits to same spots over and over all day and praying you get a couple decent bites can easily be termed a grind.....
A fun grind but still a grind.

LOL anything over 3 pounds is a GIANT according to Mike Ike.
This is not a cliche but I find it funny so many people can tell how big a fish was...that came off at the boat.

I hate...
-That guy is a stick or some real sticks on that lake
-Broke my rod on the hook set (when you know it was a rock) and if I don't get a new one free I will bash the manufacture on a public forum
-Choked it
-Game changer
-Grow the sport
Pretty much in that order!

Re: Most overused fishing cliche'? - 10/17/18 12:40 AM
No question it's the use of the term giant whether fishing or hunting. A "giant" IMO represents something extrodinarily larger than the the normal size. If normally a large fish for X reservoir is 8 pounds, then it needs to be way bigger.

That cow stuff is complete nonsense. Cows lay down because they are tire or lazy. Nothing more, nothing less. If you drive by 10 pastures on the way to the lake and cows are standing up in half then who do you trust?
Next time I see a cow making a cast I will trust their fishing sense.
