3rd Annual Fish For A Cure! Sunday October 28th - Lake Ray Hubbard! $3000 Guaranteed to win!

The American Cancer Society in association with the Ray Hubbard Bass Club and our title sponsors Prestige Ford and Rad Rides are proud to announce the Third Annual Fish For A Cure benefit tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard! Here are the details.

• When: Sunday October 28th
• Where: Lake Ray Hubbard - Bass Pro Shops in Garland
• Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Registration/Check In: 5:00 - 7:30 AM - Bass Pro Shops in Garland
• Entry Fee: $100.00 per boat – 2 person maximum (includes big bass)
• Guaranteed win payout of $3000.00
• $1000 Big Bass payout - Two places ($750/$250)

All proceeds from this tournament go directly to the American Cancer Society for the fight against cancer. This is a team tournament. One or two people per boat. You can register in person the morning of the event, or on line. A link to on line registration will be provided at the bottom of this post. Our Tournament Director this year will again be the great Scott Gordon. He will have the weigh in stage set up for registration/check in Sunday morning beginning at 5:00 in the parking lot at Bass Pro Shops Garland. Once you have registered and had your live well check done, you may trailer to a ramp of your choice. Our friends at Chandlers Landing Marina are offering half price launch of $10.00 for FFAC Participants. First cast is at 7:00AM. Lines must be out of the water at 3:00PM. You must be in line to weigh your fish at Bass Pro Shops Garland by 4:00PM. Entry fee is $100.00 and that includes big bass.

A full list of prizes will be posted here, the prizes are great and the list is growing daily! Shirts will be $20.00, short or long sleeve. We will have breakfast tacos and coffee or water along with gift bags for all of the anglers participating. Fishing was great last year with several 20+ pound bags weighed in!

If you or your business is interested, sponsorships are available from $250.00 - $2500.00. Each level has a few more benefits. Every sponsorship of $500.00 or more comes with at least one free tournament entry. All of you know someone or several people whose lives have been touched by this insidious disease. Cancer doesn't care about your age, your gender, or your race. Yes sir Jay. Once you register and get your livewell checked, you can trailer to any ramp on the lake and go to your spot. First cast is 7:00AM sharp

Thanks Cubby! So I've been holding off saying anything figuring it would jinx us, but it looks like the weather is going to be GREAT!! May be a bit windy, but the fish on Hubbard respond best when it's a little rough. Here's the latest forecast from NOAA.

Sunny, with a high near 79. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

No reason not to come out on Sunday! Finish out your year by helping a great cause!

I've had some questions. There is no off limits for this event except you have to be off the water on Saturday by 5:00PM. A reminder. We will have 100 breakfast tacos from Whataburger and Dunkin Donuts coffee or very generic water for you at registration. Come and get them while they last!

If we launch somewhere else, can we drive the boat up to the bass pro ramp for livewell check? We registered online.

We would prefer that you come by registration first, but if that is not possible, we will get your livewell checked down there. You still need to check in with Scott as well. If you registered on line, he has a list of those names.

Fight cancer

Man fishing was tough but we had a great time. My partner and I weighed in three haha. Good to see so many out there for a great cause. Congrats to the winners and also Mike Griffin and Larry Tidwell for their 3rd place finish repin McKinney Bass Club. MBC always looks forward to this event. We’ll see you all next year. What did it take?

19.09 to win today by the team of Mark Everett and Luke Huffman and big bass was an 8.83 and next up was an 8.72! Hubbard was tough. Anyone local knows she doesn't play well when the weather is as nice as it was today. Thanks to everyone that came out and I will get full results and pictures posted later this week! We made a lot of money for the American Cancer society today. I am very proud to be a part of this event!

Great event! Very organized and smooth.

My own performance was a bit embarrassing, but I guess we all have to have one of those days from time to time. We had 3 fish for less than 7lbs. Ouch.

I had a good time, looking forward to the next one. Thanks to everyone who helped put this together.

Me and partner David had a blast. We went around with David taking pictures of the different teams fishing and had a good time talking to everyone. As tough as the fishing was everyone seemed to be in a great mood I believe because of the great weather we had with no rain and little wind and comfortable temps.
Tom and all of the RHBC members and their families and friends made this an awesome event that just keeps getting bigger and better each year and I am definitely glad to be a part of it.
Just a couple of shout outs. It was great to see my buddy Michael Vazques show up all the way from his house at Lake Belton to fish the event. That was quite a drive and it was greatly appreciated.
Also would like to thank Scott Gordon and his staff for always doing a great job of handling the event registration and weigh in. They are the best and it wouldn't be nearly the event without them.

If you won something and were not there to collect it, I will be contacting you this week! Thanks again everyone! I will get the results and pictures up asap and post the final tally of what we raised as well when I get it. What a great day!

The fishing was extremely tough out there last week, and finding a pattern after the rains, was a true grind. This was a well put together tournament for a great cause that has touched my family in alot of different ways, and it was an honor to be a part of this great cause.
