$2000 to spend on graphs

I'm getting a boat my senior year of college and I have saved up $2000 from my internship. What would you guys recommend for graphs on the console and the bow? Or would it be more worth my while to just get one on my console.

Get on BBC or here and find 2 good shape used Hummingbird helix. Biggest you can get for the price.

I would get the brand that links to your trolling motor.....if you get a TM that can do that. I suggest console and bow, don't forget a map card!

Helix 10 SI and a Helix 10 DI for just a little more than that.

Id never suggest a 9. The size isnt the only difference the picture quality is very different on a 9 vs 10.. I was steered wrong by a salesman at bass pro. The pixel count or whatever is much lower on the 9.

The housing for the 9 and the 10 are the same but what you mentioned is the reason to pass on it.

I have 2 elite Ti 9 inch units.(roughly your price range)I'm not sure I made the right choice by not purchasing helix units. But I'm happy with them and they have certainly allowed me to catch more fish

This might not be a popular answer here and I’m not afraid of the criticism, but I’m going to go a different direction and say SAVE/ INVEST your $2000....

In my opinion I'd get a helix mega 10 si for the console, $1500 range. I'd get a helix 7 g2n sonar/gps for the front. $500 range. For me, the console unit is the most important, you'll be utilizing the si plus mapping alot. The 7" at front is just big enough to efficiently show you mapping and sonar which I think is all you really need starting out.

And when you save up enough for another 10 or 12. Move one to the front and use 7" for mapping at the console next to the 10/12 si mega

I know that on the Elite-Ti's you can't connect the the two together. Can you connect your way points on the Helix mega 10 si and the helix 7g2n?

I would look into Garmin as well. They are extremely user friendly, very high quality images and won’t kill your pocket book. You’d have money left over too.

Don't waste your money on Lowrance!

Whatever you choose, I'd think about the entire network with trolling motor and future needs. Hummingbirds/minnkota, and lowrance/motor guide are paired.

Buy some used Lowrance. 2grand outta get you a pair of 12's and a full network.

Got a brand new Lowrance Elite 7TI in the box for sale on the swap and sell section.

You can get more than you need under $2k.

Get a 9" for the console, 7" on the bow, or two 9's. Get Garmin.. get the best 2 under your budget

I have a helix 10 and a HDS 12 gen 3 on console Of my new boat. So far I prefer the helix I do t know if it just because that is what I am used to trying to give the Lowrance a fair chance right now strongly considering selling one of my 12 s to get another helix. If you are in the Dow area I could take you out and you could compare both on the water

Bbg marine is hard to beat

This. Garmin sometimes gets a bad rap, but I have the basic Striker 7" 2D Chirp and downscan on the bow. Dependable, bright, crisp screen, unbelievable downscan....Does everything I need it to do.

I have a Garmin 7SV and the sonar, SIde imaging and Down imaging are all very good. Better than my Huuminbird 899 but not quite Helix 10 mega.

What is the biggest difference between the Garmin and the Helix 10?

And the Garmin has more quality maps
