Humminbird 360 Ruggedness - 07/27/18 12:39 AM

I just purchased the 360 transducer and will install on a new Ultrex. I'm wondering about how much I need to baby that set-up when fishing shallow. Any feedback on difficulty with it in grass, brush, etc?

It sits directly above your trolling motor prop. Do you normally run your prop into brush? I'm sure it's about as durable as any transducer, gross should be fine, but I wouldn't run a transducer into brush or rocks. But if you're hitting the 360 transducer, you're also burying your trolling motor prop into the object too.

It's pretty rugged. I mounted one on an Ulterra and the after market mount that I had to use didn't hold up very well but the 360 has been just fine. It sits high enough above the trolling motor you won't find that you bump it into things often because you can usually see the stump in that level of the water column. Since I have seen quite a few Ultrexes with broken shafts, I would bet that the TM shaft would break before you damage the 360.
