It has been 4 years since i have been to Athens was wounding how the morning bite has been. Have some free time this weekend and was waiting to see how much it has changed and do some fishing before it gets to Hot.

Bite is good in general. The schools move between coves from time to time, but they are schooling almost all day somewhere! Start in the popular spots around Wolf, the dam, and creeks. My best luck has been 1/2 way back with a weightless fluke.

I was there this morning. Did not have much luck early but it got better around 8:00 using black worm

Keep a weightless fluke, or better yet a donkey rig tied on to a rod you can cast for distance. When you see 'em bust the surface, chunk it to them. I caught several that way last week....
