Haven’t been to either one in a good while. I’m in Rowlett so Holbrook is a half hour closer and I’m fishing one of them on Thursday. Which one would you pick?

Holbrook is easy to get to, easy to navigate and TP&W put out some artificial brush piles ( locations are on their website ) but I think Gilmer has more fish.

Welsh is one of my favorite lakes but like you said not on my list for Thursday.

i was on gilmer early spring it looks like it has been sprayed for moss,the north end only had moss on the bottom,the north part that should have a large area of moss had none,it may have changed since i was there.anyone on here have more info?

Thanks for the offer Papa but playing in a golf tournament Thursday and Friday. I fished a couple of the TP&W brush piles with no luck. Caught all my fish up north but was during the spawn.

Grass died back on Gilmer this winter, but I was out there Friday morning and it's coming back nice. Some good fish are currently being caught down by the damn.

glad to here that the moss is coming back i like this little lake.
