Only exception is I really prefer FOAM over CORK (Durability)

-DOBYNS- ANY SUGGESTIONS??? FURY or OTHER???
-DOBYNS 766 FLIP ANY GOOD? Cork but maybe worth it...

I am a Dobyins fan so my vote is either the 744 Champion XP or the 755 you have listed. That is my ultimate rod for flipping and pitching even though I am only 5'8" tall. GREAT ROD for the money. I use the rod for all my flipping and pitching. I have not tried the 765 Fury rod but it might be good too. Hope this helps. Tight lines keep safe and good luck.

No best, just what in the end you think will fit you...check out the Major Craft 7.3H MS1. We designed the rod with jig flippers in mind. Stout rod with all Fuji components. Double footed Fuji K frame guides all the way to the top. Power handle for leverage in getting those bass in the boat. Lightweight and super sensitive. We have one you can try out. Thanks

A lot of ya'll saying Falcon I really like Falcon and affordable too

I found a "Lightly used" Dobyns DX 784C marked down to $180

Not sure retail but sure feels good!

I did notice what appears to be a fairly heavy metal weight on the rod Butt?

Never seen this on a rod before-is this standard on Dobyns?

Thanks

The best is what feels "best" in your hands. I have several NRX rods but I use a NRX 893 and 894 for jigs and t-rig, far more sensitive than any other rod I have had, buy once cry once, YMMV

That's a good deal. $349 retail on that rod.

And yes, they have a metal butt cap.

Re: Best Jig Rod - 06/12/18 08:19 PM

I actually use the Castaway you refer to for my flipping rod only because Judy at Power Tackle told me the 104 doesn’t like braid and I wanted to use it. But I do use the 104 to throw a football head jig.

Power Tackle 144 if you want a 7ft jig rod, Power Tackle 104 if you want a 7ft 6in rod. I have yet to figure out just how they number their rods.

I love my Dobyns DX 744,745 & 746, HP's. Just pick what power rod you need for the technique or conditions. The Champion series are grat rods too. I know you did'nt want cork but if you get a chance pick up one of these rods and check out the quality of the cork used and how it feels. I'm sure you'll like it!

Power Tackle rods have foam handles, many of the other rods suggested (are good jig rods) but do not have foam handles.
