Lake Fork Report 6/5/2018 - 06/05/18 05:58 PM
Short report this time around but as things change I will update. It should help point folks in the right direction.
Lake Fork water level is currently 402.15 and temps have been 80-84 degrees.
EARLY MORNING TOP WATER 6:00 - 6:30 AM
.
Recently the morning top water bite only lasts about 20-30 minutes before I head off to deeper water. For the early bite I’m throwing a Spook and Yellow Magic (bone) As soon as the bite shuts off I’m heading out to deeper water.
DEEPER WATER 15-24 feet
I am spending the rest of the day and evening fishing main lake points, humps, road beds and a few pond dams. Here are the five baits I’m throwing.
BAITS
Drop Shot with a ¼ to 3/8 oz weight and a #1 rigging hook. I like to throw this rig with a Zoom finesse worm (tomato and plum).
Carolina rig with a 1 oz weight, 5 foot leader and a #3 rigging hook with a Zoom fluke (mardi gras).
Football jig 3/8 oz (mexican heather) with a green pumpkin rage tail and
8XD Crankbait (Chartreuse Blue Back & Tennessee Shad)
EVENING / SCHOOLING FISH
I have also been catching some schooling fish in the evenings with a weightless fluke (white) or a Yellow Magic(bone)
