I wish I knew how people do it. I’d love to spend a day in the boat with some of these guys. I can go hit brush piles all day and drag ledges and throw 10 XDs, and never have close to that kind of success. Unreal, and congrats to them on the win.

You can't go hitting brush piles that 1k people know about and do that. You also can't do it idling the same stuff that's on everybody's map chip. It takes years to find the special little places where you can have enough to put that kind of bag together. I will be interested to hear what they say, I heard a little bit about it

Plus this thing timed out right. The water stayed high and all those late spring fronts kept those fish up. Now they moved out and are hungry

Most of them they sank themselves in inconspicuous areas that will hold fish

schedules should include various lakes that test ones overall skills and should not cater to just one specific area.

Because it has Rayburn twice. Great to fish but clearly favors a few pro’s that live and guide on the lake.

Albert is one of the nicest fisherman that I have ever met. I have seen him at several tournaments helping people out with everything from lending strangers his cell phone because they didn't have service and helping someone unlock there door because they locked their keys in to giving advice to people on setting up their engines on their boat.

While I would've liked to see Toledo on the schedule, having Rayburn twice isn't terrible. Atleast it's a tremendous fishery and not something like Livingston or Palestine. I don't think for a minute TxTT is catering to pros or guides. Look at some of the locals that didn't catch them. They are going twice cause the turnouts will be better than any other lake in the state and it's fishing really good.

Toledo needs a rest. And that’s putting it nicely.

I love Rayburn as much as the next guy... but having the same lake twice on a schedule like TTT is ridiculous.
Have one in the south, one in the central, one in the east, and one in the north.

We didn’t talk to everyone obviously but almost all didn’t like the travel distances and the lake selections. Can’t make everyone happy.

I can too. I mean Rayburn is a gimmie as far as drawing teams... and I really don't mind fishing it, but there sure are a lot good lakes to fish aside from Rayburn.

Re: 40 lb bag day 1 of TXTT? - 06/04/18 09:32 PM
I have the simple answer for why they are coming to Rayburn twice next year. NUMBERS. For TTT, it's a business decision. For the past 5+ years, Rayburn has drawn the most numbers of any regular season tournament they put on. This past weekend was their largest turnout for a championship.
It's a no brainer from a business standpoint.

Bingo....if guys turned out more at other lakes, TxTT would go. Some areas of Texas have more fisherman than east Texas but the guys out east will show up for tournaments.

Its not the tournaments it needs a rest from. Heck Rayburn most heavily tournament fished lake in the country and still puts it out but most guys release atleast.

Yep. I think every big trail would if they could but like Latta said, the guys out there show up. If more guys around dfw or other areas would just get close to the numbers that would change things.

Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn have always drawn the largest number of entries, for any Tournament Trail. When they venture to far from that area, (I-35 corridor, for example), just doesn't bring the fisherman in great numbers. BFL has been all thru this, years ago.

Yea. That's one thing I don't get on here. So many guys complain about trails staying on those 2 lakes but won't get the numbers elsewhere.

Re: 40 lb bag day 1 of TXTT? - 06/06/18 03:03 PM
For those complaining about any tournament schedule.....nothing is stopping you from stepping up and starting your own trail and making the schedule be whatever you want it to be. They have always put on a great tournament and will continue to do so. Pretty big risk when they first stepped up and started this trail and they have made it very successful.
Nothing wrong with someone else starting a new trail on new lakes spread out all over Texas to test an anglers skill and make an even playing field.....but if you don't draw the boats to a large payout.....and then draw enough to be financially successful, you won't make it.

So now the Big Bite Baits instagram says they caught it on the kriet tail worm and others are saying it was on the mister twister 12 inch. I’m curious what they used

Re: 40 lb bag day 1 of TXTT? - 06/06/18 07:11 PM
They caught them on any worm each sponsor has. That's how they always catch them. I would guess they were using the big worm though.
