I have to brag on my wife!

A little back story, my lovely wife likes to accompany me fishing pretty often, her attention span generally last about an hour and switches to getting a tan if they aren’t biting right away. She normally fishes a spinner bait or trap (easy fishing).

Yesterday on the way to the lake I said “Babe, I’m going to teach you to fish a Texas rig today”. Gave her a little run down on how to fish it and what she should imagine the bait doing in the water. Third cast of the day I look back at her and she has her rod bent over and relling on something. I looked over and said you hooked a stump (this happens pretty often). She said “Oh dang..NO IT’S SWIMMING SIDEWAYS”! I saw the fish jump and then I was I was laying on my stomach waiting on her to get it close enough to the boat that I could snatch it...her new PB and she hasn’t stopped talking about it since!

Congratulations on a nice fish! Having a wife that enjoys fishing makes the sport so much better. Once she catches a few more like that, she will do less tanning and more fishing. At least that is how it happened with my wife.

Years ago I learned that fishing is just a waste time for me.

If I want fish on the table, minnows in the bucket, or bait for the trot line, send the girls/wife out fishing.

I wish my wife would even go to the lake with me. She will not. Much less get in the boat and fish. But, I guess I should be glad she lets me to go any day, all day, whenever, wherever. She even makes sure the DVR is recording MLF and stuff while I'm at the lake.

Im glad my wife doesnt bass fish, when we lived in Louisiana she always caught the most and the biggest redfish. If I ever catch a 10 lber, i might take her bass fishing.

Y'all can fish your fancy Carolina/drop shot rigs or whatever y'all want. I'm sorry, but nothing will out fish a texas rigged watermelon red plastic.. I bet I could take one rod/reel, a bag of baby brush hogs, and a few hooks and weights on the water for a day and catch as many as the next guy.
